El Pao, Cojedes

El Pao is a village in the state of Cojedes in northern Venezuela.

It is seat of the county ( municipality ) El Pao, who has an estimated population of 14,507 inhabitants.

The San Juan Bautista Church is one of the oldest churches in Venezuela, whose first direction falls in the year 1661.

The Río Pao, who served as namesake of the settlement, flows through the village. The economic base of the region is mainly livestock.
