El Paso Buzzards

The El Paso Buzzards were an American ice hockey team from El Paso, Texas. The team played from 2001 to 2003 in the Central Hockey League.

History

The El Paso Buzzards were established in 1996 as a franchise of the Western Professional Hockey League. They were one of six founding members of the WPHL, whose championship they won in 1997 and 1998 respectively. Buzzards As the league in 2001 with the Central Hockey League merged also joined the new league and reached in the 2001/ 02 season at once the playoffs for the Miron Cup, where they the second after a victory over the Odessa Jackalopes in the round the Austin Ice Bats in the best- of-seven series documents with 2:4 victories.
