El Socorro is a village in Guárico, Venezuela, administrative seat of the district of the same. The village had 14049 inhabitants (2001 census ).

History
End of the eighteenth century, the Captain Felix Bernabé Fernández land bought by the Spanish Empire and founded a hacienda named El Socorro. This country was formerly inhabited by Palenke Indians.
On August 2, 1816 during the Unabhängigkeitskriegees, the Quebrada Honda battle took place nearby. The Independence Army under the leadership of General MacGregors defeated the troops of the Spanish government headed by Juan Quero Neponuceno.
