El Telégrafo

El Telégrafo - German: " The Telegraph " - is a Spanish-language, Uruguayan newspaper from Paysandú.

The newspaper was founded by the brothers Carotini Angel and Miguel A. Baccaro. The first edition dated July 1, 1910. Middle of the 1960s appeared the newspaper with the exception of Sundays daily. She had at that time an average ten pages and had a circulation in the amount of 8,000 copies. The editorial team consisted at that time of six editors, a graphic designer and two photographers. At the time of this data collection, the newspaper was owned by FJ Baccaro. 1966 took over his son Fernando Miguel Baccaro the position of Director and held this until his death on May 9, 2006. At the time of the death of Fernando Miguel Baccaro El Telégrafo was the largest circulation newspaper in the country outside the metropolitan area of Montevideo. After El Día El Telégrafo is only the second Uruguayan newspaper, which is longer than 100 years. At the time of the one hundred anniversary of the foundation Enrique Baccaro, was a grandson of one of newspaper founder, director of the El Telégrafo.
