El Universal (Caracas)

El Universal is a Venezuelan newspaper with an average daily 80,000 copies ( 200,000 on Sundays ). The political orientation is fairly liberal.

History

The newspaper was founded on 1 April 1909 by the Venezuelan writer Andrés Mata and the journalist and politician Andrés vigas. The current owner is the family Núñez together with various economic groups. The print publishing is Editorial Ambos Mundos CA

In addition to the general political information, the newspaper focuses primarily on economic news, which is also expressed on the stock part. So far, appears daily also an online edition.
