Elaine Paige

Elaine Paige OBE ( born March 5, 1948 in Barnet, Hertfordshire as Jill Elaine Bickerstaff ) is a British singer and actress, primarily in musicals.

Best known as an actress she is the female lead roles in Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's Evita and Cats. In Evita she served on the original London cast and sang the role of Eva Perón there. Your interpretation of the role is still valid today for many musical performer as a model. In Cats, where she was also a member of the original cast, she sang the role of an aging cat Grizabella. She coined in this role, the piece of memory that can be taken as the hits from Evita since then with its voice connection. Another role Paige was, inter alia, of Florence in the musical Chess the musicians ABBA Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson.

Your biggest international success was "I Know Him So Well", a duet with Barbara Dickson from the musical Chess, and the Top Ten hit "Memory " from the musical Cats.

In 1988, she brought out an album of cover versions of the legendary rock band Queen, under the name "The Queen Album."
