Elbe is a municipality in the east of the velvet municipality Baddeckenstedt district Wolfenbüttel in Lower Saxony ( Germany ).

Geography
The same community is located southwest of Salzgitter in the valley of the core. Starting in the north east borders clockwise on the Elbe: the district-free city of Salzgitter and the communities Haverlah, armies and Baddeckenstedt.
The three districts of the municipality are Groß Elbe, Elbe and Klein Gustedt.
History
For the first time the district of Groß Elbe in 1132 was first mentioned in a charter of Bishop Bernard of Hildesheim for the Michaelskloster as Elvethe. In Quedlinburg recess of 1523 the place came with the Great pin to the Principality of Brunswick- Wolfenbüttel. In 1643 he was returned to the diocese of Hildesheim and remained there until Reichsdeputationshauptschluss 1803.
Incorporations
On March 1, 1974, the municipalities Groß Elbe, Gustedt and small Elbe were joined to the new community Elbe.
