Elbert H. Hubbard

Elbert Hamilton Hubbard ( born August 19, 1849 in Rushville, Rush County, Indiana, † June 4, 1912 in Sioux City, Iowa ) was an American politician. Between 1905 and 1912 he represented the state of Iowa in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Elbert Hubbard was a son of Asahel W. Hubbard (1819-1879), who was also of 1863-1869 the State of Iowa in Congress. The younger Hubbard attended the public schools of his home and enjoyed time as a private education. Until 1872, he was then at Yale College. After a subsequent study of law and its made ​​in 1874 admitted to the bar he began in Sioux City to practice in his new profession.

Politically, Hubbard was a member of the Republican Party. In 1882 he sat as an MP in the House of Representatives from Iowa; 1900 to 1902 he was a member of the State Senate. In the congressional elections of 1904 he was in the eleventh electoral district of Iowa in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC selected. There he entered on March 4, 1905, the successor of Lot Thomas. After three re- elections he could remain until his death on June 4, 1912 in Congress.
