Eldar Gasimov

Eldar Qasımov (* September 24, 1989 in Baku ) is an Azerbaijani singer.

Qasımov began in 2001, studying piano in his hometown of Baku. 2004 and 2008 he received grants, including 2008, a university summer course scholarship from the DAAD, which took him to Germany. There he studied singing and acting. In addition, he completed a degree in International Relations from the Baki Slavyan Universiteti in his hometown. Currently, he completed the Master's program. Eldar Qasımov is fluent in German, English and Russian.

In 2011 he won the preliminary round Azerbaijani Milli seçim turu together with Nigar Camal. Both were of the same year their homeland under the duet called " Ell & Nikki " at the 56th Euro Vision Song Contest in Dusseldorf. On 10 May 2011 they presented their English ballad Running Scared in the first ESC semi-final, where they moved up into four days later held the final. There she won with 221 points, ahead of Raphael Gualazzi from Italy ( 189 points ) and Sweden Eric Saade (185).

Together with Leyla Əliyeva and Nargiz Birk -Petersen, he hosted the Euro Vision Song Contest 2012 in Baku.
