Eleanor Scott

Eleanor Scott ( born July 23, 1951 in Inverness ) is a Scottish politician and member of the Scottish Green Party.

She is a mother of two and lives with the SNP politician Rob Gibson in Evanton. Scott visited the Bearsden Academy and studied medicine at the University of Glasgow. After that, they had long worked as a physician.

Career as a politician

For the first time Scott joined the European elections in 1994 for Green Party. However, in her constituency Highlands and Islands it was only the fifth highest number of votes and thus failed to reach the European Parliament. In the parliamentary elections of 1999 Scott was the top candidate of the Green Party in the election Highlands and Islands, but was able to win a share of 3.8 % of the vote, none of the mandates. Also in the European elections of 1999, she received no mandate.

In the parliamentary elections in 2003 Scott was once again on the top rank of the Regional Evaluation of the Greens in the Highlands and Islands and moved as a result of the election results for the first time in the Scottish Parliament. In 2007, she lost her seat again.

Since 2008, Scott has together with Patrick Harvie chairman of the Scottish Green Party.
