Electrabel

The Electrabel S. A. is the leading energy services provider in Belgium and the Benelux countries. The company is based in Brussels. It is a subsidiary of GDF Suez.

Electrabel was formerly listed but since 2005 has been a 100 % subsidiary of GDF Suez.

The company has it achieved in 2007, with 15,000 employees, 10,000 in the Benelux sales of 15.2 billion euros. Chairman is Jean -Pierre Hansen. Electrabel has a production farm with an installed capacity of 31,200 megawatts ( MW), of which 18,000 MW in the Benelux countries.

Germany

1998, the Group's subsidiary Electrabel Energy Germany AG was founded with its headquarters in Berlin.

In 2001 founded the Electrabel Energy Germany AG, Stadtwerke Saarbrücken energy SaarLorLux based in Saarbrücken, a year later the investment in the subsidiaries of Gera ( Gera power supply and power plants Gera ) to 49.9 percent.

2003, all produced by the power plant Gera Nordstrom surpluses are fed as scheduled delivery at the Leipzig Energy Exchange (EEX ) and sold over bilateral trading activities and the day- ahaed trading. In 2005, Electrabel energy Germany secured for the construction of coal-fired generation facilities in Brunsbuttel, Stade and Wilhelmshaven, where the first plant to be built in 2012. For the construction of gas and Dampfturbinenalagen Electrabel Germany in the same year secured locations in Bavaria and Saxony -Anhalt. The National Garden Show Gera - Ronneburg 2005 (83 percent hydropower from Scandinavia according to RECS certificate, the rest from renewable energy from Germany ) powered by the power SaarLorLux with green electricity. In 2005, the labor inspectorate Oldenburg awarded the contract for the construction of a coal-fired power plant in Wilhelmshaven, which is to be mitbetrieben E.ON.

After costly refurbishment of the power station Roman Bridge in Saarbrücken in 2004 and 2005 this was taken over by the specially created subsidiary Electrabel Saarbrücken 2005. It has been certified by TÜV Saarland as work safe and environmentally friendly according to DIN ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.

The Electrabel power Germany was renamed in February 2009 and since then conducts the business under the name GDF Suez Energy Germany.
