Electrelane

Electrelane is a band from Brighton in England.

History

Electrelane was founded in 1998 by Verity Susman and Emma Gaze. Their debut album Rock It to the Moon, on the instrumentals are mainly heard, was released in April 2001.

The second album, The Power Out, was produced by Steve Albini and contains much more vocals and more structured songs. It was released in February 2004 on Too Pure Records. The third album, Axes, was also produced by Steve Albini and released on 9 May 2005.

In 2007 published Electrelane No Shouts No Calls the album and declared in November that they will take an indefinite break.

In summer 2011, Electrelane started after three -year hiatus, a new European tour.

Style

The music Electrelane is characterized by a wide range of influences, including Krautrock, post-rock, jazz and klezmer occasionally. The Bands New!, Sonic Youth and The Velvet Underground influenced the sound of Electrelane considerably.
