The Tannerin or Elektrotheremin was an electrical musical instrument. It was a theremin with simplified operation, the worldwide fame through the hit single Good Vibrations by the Beach Boys earned. The Beach Boys used the tool again for the song Wild Honey and I Just Was not Made for These Times. In the following decades it came in several television series in the soundtrack used.

Have been developed was matched by the studio musicians Paul Tanner and Bob Whitsell in 1958 and to use in the studio the Tannerin. There the musician could change the pitch by a controller on a surface back and herschob. In contrast to the Theremin Tannerin creating an almost pure sine wave. The volume could be adjusted by a knob on the side of the device. After the Beach Boys had used this instrument together with musicians for studio recordings of Good Vibrations, they needed another device which could play live on tour, the guitarist. Walter Sears and Robert Moog came up with the idea to provide the existing controller with an additional band on which they set the respective corresponding old note. Later it developed into a pseudo keyboard, piano keys are on the front of the controller painted / glued on.
