Electronic (Band)

Electronic was a group that formed in the post- punk era in Britain at the end of the 1980s. It was founded by Bernard Sumner and Johnny Marr. In the course of her work known musicians came for individual songs over and over again to, inter alia, Neil Tennant of the Pet Shop Boys at Getting Away With It and Disappointed or Karl Bartos, ex-member of Kraftwerk.

Already their first single reached number 12 in the UK nearly the top 10 and made in the USA and Australia, respectively, the top 40 Their debut album was released in the UK at # 2 and was more than one million copies worldwide. Her biggest hit was, however, Disappointed, reached the number 6 in the UK.

In 1998, Bernard Sumner left briefly Electronic, because his old band New Order on the occasion of the Reading Festival got together again. After this excursion Bernard Sumner returned to Electronic and was involved in the recording of the third album Twisted Tenderness.
