Origin and recording

In November 1968, George Harrison was in Los Angeles, where he worked as a producer for Jackie Lomax when shooting for his debut album, Is This What You Want? worked. On November 11, 1968 Bernie Krause - one of the first users of the Moog synthesizer still relatively newly developed - were hired to add sounds of the Moog III several pieces. Harrison was fascinated by capabilities of the device and asked Krause to provide a comprehensive demonstration of the synthesizer. While Krause the device extensively vorführte in the " Sound Recorder Studios ", a recording tape ran with her. This recording was the basis for the title No Time or Space.

As a result, George Harrison ordered a Moog IIIp and let deliver these to his house in Esher (England). Bernie Krause visited Harrison, to assist him in setting up the synthesizer. In February 1969, the second side of the album which named Harrison, after a newspaper column of the " Liverpool Echo " was born.

Cover

The simple drawings of the front and back of the album jacket were from George Harrison. The originally quoted on the cover of Bernie Krause was done so little of the quality of the music that he did not want to be mentioned there. His name was therefore painted over. The drawing on the front shows a person with a green face and a synthesizer. The drawing on the back shows the office of Derek Taylor, the former spokesman for the Beatles.
