Elena Antoci

Elena Antoci (born Buhăianu, divorced Iagăr; born January 16, 1975 in Braşov ) is a Romanian middle distance runner.

In 1999, she won at the Universiade bronze over 800m and gold above 1500 m and was at the World Athletics Championships in Seville Sixth above 1500 m, 2000, she retired at the Olympic Games in Sydney about 800 m in the flow and reached about 1500 m the semifinals.

A Vorrundenaus over 1500 m at the 2001 World Championships in Edmonton followed over the same distance the silver medal at the IAAF European Indoor Championships in Vienna in 2002 and a sixth place finish at the IAAF World Indoor Championships in Birmingham in 2003. At the European Athletics Championships in Munich in 2002 and at the 2004 Olympics in Athens, she retired about 1500 m from the inlet port.

The following year, Antoci won the 1500m at the European Indoor Championships in Madrid.

In 2008 she was suspended by the Romanian Olympic team after was tested at a doping control the A sample positive for erythropoietin ( EPO).
