Elena Shvarts

Jelena Andrejewna Black (Russian: Елена Андреевна Шварц; born May 17, 1948 in Leningrad, † March 11, 2010 ibid ) was a Russian poet, essayist and translator.

Life

Her first poems were published in the Soviet Union only in the underground as samizdat, in the West only in magazines, the first book of Jelena Black Tanzujuschy David ( German " The Dancing David " ) appeared in 1985 in New York. 1987 published their Stichi ( "Poems " ) in Munich and Paris. Only after the perestroika allowed their books in the Soviet Union appear, published in 1989 as First Storony swjeta ( " directions " ) in their homeland, the book was sold out on publication day.

German have been published: A cold fire burns to the bone along (1997) and The Flowers Animal (1999).
