Elfego Hernán Monzón Aguirre

Elfego Hernán Monzón Aguirre (* 1912, † 1981) was from June 28 to July 7, 1954 partially conductive member of various juntas which had the functions of a head of state of Guatemala.

Life

From 1950 to 1954 Monzón was in government cabinets of Juan José Arévalo and Jacobo Arbenz Guzmán Minister without Portfolio.

On June 28, 1954 Monzón headed a junta which exekutierte the replacement of Carlos Enrique Díaz de León by Carlos Castillo Armas in the army of Guatemala under the operation PBSUCCESS. Up to a formation of the Escuela Politécica all military Guatemala could be convinced that the President in Guatemala are determined by the U.S. ambassador.
