Elfgard Schittenhelm

Elfgard Sibylle Schittenhelm, born Weismann (* September 13, 1947 in Stuttgart) is a former German track and field athlete who competed for the Federal Republic of Germany.

Life

After she became in 1969 Vice-Champion in the 100 -meter run for the SpVgg Holzgerlingen, she moved to OSC Berlin, where they celebrated their greatest sporting achievements. On July 10, 1971 Schittenhelm achieved with 11.16 s their best performance in the 100 meters, from 1971 to 1973, she was German champion.

At the European Championships 1971 in Helsinki Schittenhelm won with Inge Helten, Annegret Richter and Ingrid Mickler -Becker in 43.23 s gold with the 4 x 100 - meter relay. In the 100 -meter final won Renate Stecher, Schittenhelm won the bronze medal with 11.51 s behind Season colleague Ingrid Mickler -Becker, who attended along with Inge Helten in fourth place for an excellent team result.

Also for the 1972 Olympic Games Schittenhelm was put together with Ingrid Mickler -Becker, Heide Rosendahl and Annegret Richter for the sprint relay of women. With the 4 x 100 - meter relay Schittenhelm also won silver at the European Championships 1974 in Rome.
