Elgin County
Elgin County is a county in the southwest of the Canadian province of Ontario. The county seat is St. Thomas. Its population is 87 461 (2011), the area of 1880.90 km ², which corresponds to a population density of 46.5 inhabitants per km ². Named the County to James Bruce, 8th Earl of Elgin, the Governor General of Canada from 1847 to 1854. Located on the north shore of Lake Erie.
