Eli Ben-Menachem

Eli Ben- Menachem (Hebrew אלי בן - מנחם * November 24, 1947 in Bombay, India) is an Israeli politician and member of the Knesset.

Ben- Menachem immigrated to Israel in 1949 and studied at the Military Academy. He then worked as an aircraft engineer and some time later also served as union leaders in the Israeli airline El Al. In 1988 he was elected for the left-wing party alliance HaMa'arach in the Knesset. He was on August 4, 1992 to August 8, 1993 Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's services. He was also on 7 March 2001 to 2 November 2002 Deputy Minister of Economy and Trade. Furthermore, he was on 8 April 1993 to 18 June 1996 and from 11 January 2005 until 23 November 2005, Deputy Minister of Construction and Housing. In the 2006 elections, he lost his seat in the Knesset. Ben- Menachem lives in Tel Aviv, is married and has three children.
