Eliana Printes

Eliana Printes is a Brazilian singer from Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil.

With their debut CD Eliana Printes in 1994 it was for the Sharp Awards (currently Tim Awards ) in the category " Revelação da Música Popular Brasileira " ( Newcomer award ) nominated. In the course of her career she has recorded six albums of original compositions as well as compositions by friends. There are also two best-of albums and various collections. This appeared both in Brazil and outside the country. The CD " Divas Cantam Jobim " was released by Som Livre in Portugal in 2007. Also in the same year she starred in the film Nokia Music Recommenders, in which Wim Wenders directed.

Biography

Eliana was born in humble circumstances. Her mother was a housewife and her father a carpenter. Part of it has for the great Teatro Amazonas in Manaus, the scenarios here and set up. In his spare time he played pandeiro. Music has always interested him. When Eliana was 12, she began to play the guitar.

She spent her childhood in Manaus, where they listened to the radio every day. In addition, they often heard the records of her father. In 1994, she traveled to Rio de Janeiro where she recorded her first CD entitled " Eliana Printes ". In 1996, she got a contract of Indie Records / Universal Music. After that, she was able to publish a number of other works, including five more CDs whose songs were composed both of her and of friends.

The singer had two major appearances in the German-speaking countries in 2011. Firstly, the Brazilian night in the series " Classics on Weberplatz " in Potsdam with the Symphony Orchestra Collegium Musicum Potsdam conductor Dr. Knut Andreas, on the other hand an appearance in the Musical Instruments Museum in St. Gilgen, Austria.

Printes currently lives in Rio de Janeiro.
