Elias Rudolph Camerarius, Sr.

Elias Rudolph Camerarius ( born May 7, 1641 in Tübingen, † June 7, 1695 ) was a German physician.

His parents were the Tübingen doctor and pharmacist Johann Rudolf Camerarius (1618-1675) and Agnes, born in Nice, the daughter of a pharmacist and Universitätsverwanden Elias nice.

In September 1652 he was enrolled at the University of Tübingen. After he was in 1663 received his doctorate, he held several years in medical lectures and was next to practically operate. In 1668 he was elected a member of the Leopoldina. In 1672 he was appointed physician to the Duke of Württemberg and in 1677 full professor of medicine.

With his wife Regina Barbara (1643-1697), he had the sons Rudolf Jacob Camerer (* 1665) and Elias Camerarius (* 1673 )
