Elinard de Bures

Elinand from Bures (* in the 11th or 12th century; † around 1148 ) was ruler of Galilee. As such, he was also called Elinand of Tiberias. Sometimes also occurs the misspelling " Elinard " on.

Life

Elinand probably comes from the family of castellans of St. Omer. After the death of King William I of Bures Fulkos was deposed as Prince of Galilee and Elinand used as a prince. His exact date of death is not known. Most recently, he was named in June / August 1148 documented. In his next mention in January 1155 he was already dead longer in the Principality him Simon followed by Bures, the nephew of his predecessor until this 1153 after the death of Queen Melisende could return from exile.
