Eliot Feld

Eliot Field ( born July 5, 1942 in New York City ) is an American ballet dancer.

Study: School of American Ballet, New Dance Group, High School of Performing Arts, Richard Thomas.

Performances: Even with 12, he was with the New York City Ballet as the young prince in George Balanchine's staging of The Nutcracker as well as in the musical at the Phoenix Theatre Sandhog on stage. He also supported the companies of Mary Anthony, Pearl Lang, Sophie Maslow and Donald McKayle and the Voice of Firestone and L' Enfant et les Sortileges the Little Orchestra Society. At 16, he became part of the Broadway production of West Side Story and put the baby John in the movie version dar. Also, he was seen on television in the Garry Moore and Ed Sullivan shows. Other Broadway performances were I Can Get It For You Wholesale and Fiddler on the Roof. Also, there was more involvement with the American Ballet Theatre, American Ballet Company and the Feld Ballets / NY.

He choreographed 133 ballets since 1967.

Choreographic work with and for American Ballet Company (ABC), American Ballet Theatre, Atlanta Ballet, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Boston Ballet, Feld Ballets / NY, The Joffrey Ballet, John Curry Skating Company, London Festival Ballet, The National Ballet of Canada, New York City Ballet, the New York City Opera, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Richmond Ballet, Royal Danish Ballet, the Royal Swedish Ballet, the Royal Winnipeg Ballet and the San Francisco Ballet.

He founded the Ballet Tech Company and School (formerly Feld Ballets / NY and the affiliated New Ballet School ), Kids Dance, and the New York City Public School for Dance.

Awards: Eliot field received a large number of prizes and honors, among others The John Simon Guggenheim Fellowship ( 1969), the Dance Magazine Award ( 1990), and an honorary doctorate from Juilliard (1991).
