Elisabeth Henriette of Hesse-Kassel
Elisabeth Henriette of Hesse- Kassel (* November 18, 1661 in Kassel, † July 7, 1683 in Coelln ), was by marriage Kurprinzessin of Brandenburg.
Life
Childhood and youth
Elisabeth Henriette was a daughter of the Landgrave William VI. of Hesse- Kassel and his wife Hedwig Sophie of Brandenburg. After the early death of his father took care of her mother, a sister of the Great Elector to the embossed from the Reformed faith education of the princess.

Kurprinzessin of Brandenburg
In April 1678 Hedwig Sophie traveled with her daughter to Berlin. The wedding took place a year later, because they wanted to wait for the Peace of Nijmegen and suffered from lack of money. On August 13, 1679 Elisabeth Henriette and Frederick were married in Berlin castle. Dietrich Sigismund of book remarks in his diary:
" S.K.D. lay with the woman Electress still in bed when he tells her that he was now quite decided today still host the wedding of the crown, which the woman reports Electress immediately by a little note of the woman Landgravine that which would be extraordinary; about noon we shared it with the whole court. The couple resided in Köpenick Castle, which was rebuilt from 1677 to 1681 for Frederick. On September 29, 1680 the only child of the marriage was born: Luise Dorothea Sophie, who was given the names of three grandmothers and 1700 wife of Frederick of Hesse, nachmaliger King of Sweden, was.
Three years after the birth of her daughter Elisabeth Henriette died after four years of happy marriage, deeply mourned by her husband, with 21 years of smallpox. Elisabeth Henriette was buried in the crypt of the Berlin Cathedral.
