Childhood and youth

Elisabeth Henriette was a daughter of the Landgrave William VI. of Hesse- Kassel and his wife Hedwig Sophie of Brandenburg. After the early death of his father took care of her mother, a sister of the Great Elector to the embossed from the Reformed faith education of the princess.
