Elisabeth of Habsburg (1436–1505)
Elisabeth of Habsburg ( Polish Elżbieta Rakuszanka; * 1437 in Vienna, † August 30, 1505 in Kraków ) was by marriage from 1454 Queen of Poland and Grand Duchess of Lithuania.
Life
Elizabeth was the daughter of the German king Albrecht II von Habsburg, born in 1437 from his relationship with Elisabeth of Luxembourg, daughter of Holy Roman Emperor Sigismund. 1439 her father died, since 1440 they grew up with her brother Ladislaus in Wiener Neustadt at the court of King Frederick III related. on. There she met artists and poets know. Already in 1453 engaged in Wroclaw, she married on February 10, 1454, the Polish king Casimir IV Jagiello.
