Eliso Virsaladze

Elisso Konstantine asuli Virsaladze (Georgian ელისო კონსტანტინეს ასული ვირსალაძე; born September 14, 1942 in Tbilisi, Georgia ) is a Georgian pianist. She became famous for her interpretations of Robert Schumann and Frédéric Chopin.

Life

The first lesson she got from her grandmother Anastasia Virsaladze, a famous pianist and piano teacher. Her other teachers included Heinrich Neuhaus and Stanislaw. She has won numerous international competitions such as the Schumann Piano Competition in Zwickau.

Elisso Virsaladze has been a professor at the Moscow Conservatory and the Munich Academy of Music. She is a jury member of numerous international piano competitions and a guest successfully anywhere in the world.

Her musical partners include world-famous musicians such as Sviatoslav Richter, Mstislav Rostropovich, Natalia Gutman, Yuri Bashmet and others.
