Elizabeth McGovern
Elizabeth McGovern ( born July 18, 1961 in Evanston, Illinois ) is an American actress.
Life
Elizabeth McGovern came with her family to Los Angeles when their father was a law professor there. Even in high school she participated in plays with. Your screen debut in 1980 in the film Ordinary People by Robert Redford. For her performance in Ragtime by Miloš Forman in 1982 she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Since 2010 she has been seen in the British television series Downton Abbey in the role of Cora Crawley.
In addition to her film career, McGovern also works as a theater actress.
Elizabeth McGovern is also a singer and lyricist. With her band Sadie and the Hotheads she appeared first time in 2008 to the public. The group has released an album whose songs McGovern has developed with the Brother Nelson, who are now part of the band. Michelle Dockery, who plays her daughter in the television series Downton Abbey has also occasionally sung at live performances with the band.
