Elizabeth of the Trinity

Elizabeth of the Holy Trinity, actually Élisabeth Catez, even Elizabeth of Dijon ( born July 18, 1880 in Bourges, France, † November 9, 1906 in Dijon, France) was a Carmelite nun and mystic.

Élisabeth ( Sabeth ) Catez, the daughter of a French captain, was baptized on 22 July 1880. Even as a girl she was of striking deep piety, but was initially pianist. At age 21, she joined the Order of Discalced Carmelites in Dijon and took the garment the monastic name Elizabeth of the Holy Trinity. In the Carmel of Dijon Flavignerot she found the fulfillment of their life principle: " Do we live with God as with a friend, we have a living faith in order to be united through everything with him." After the novitiate she laid on January 11, 1903 from their vows. Her prayer " Elevation à la Trinité " she wrote on the evening of 21 November 1904. Considered one of the most beautiful prayers of Christendom.

Died Elizabeth of the Holy Trinity at the age of 26 years at the Addison 's disease. Their relics are venerated in the Church of St. Michel in Dijon. In the Carmel of Dijon Flavignerot their former cell and a small museum with memorabilia is on display. On November 25 1984 she was beatified by Pope John Paul II. Your feast day is November 8.
