Elk County (Pennsylvania)
Elk County is a county located in the state of Pennsylvania in the United States. In the 2000 census, the county had 35,112 inhabitants and a population density of 16 inhabitants per square kilometer. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Ridgway.

The county has an area of 2155 square kilometers, of which 9 square kilometers of water are.
Demographics
Due to immigration from Bavaria (almost 43 % of the population of the county have German ancestors ), Italians, Belgians and Irish (eg to St. Marys, the only city and largest town ) in the 19th century is still a significant part of the population Catholic.
