Elk Grove Village is a town in northeastern Illinois near the O'Hare International Airport and Chicago. Elk Grove Village covers an area of 28 square kilometers, of which are 27 square kilometers in the area of Cook County and one square kilometer in DuPage County. History
Included in the Elk Grove Township Elk Grove Village, 1956, was originally founded as a planned suburban community. The majority of homes were built by Centex Corporation. As part of the original concept of the site was planned separately for residential and commercial areas. The latter evolved into the largest business area in North America.
Before the development of residential areas Elk Grove was home to many farmers and their families, mostly German immigrants, according to which many of the main streets are named in and around the town. Buses farm remained as the last undeveloped agricultural property in the village, between Higgins Road and Oakton Street and was temporarily earmarked as the site for the new stadium of the Chicago Bears.
