Elke Twesten

Elke Twesten (* July 7, 1963 in Scheessel ) is a German politician ( Alliance 90/The Greens ) and Member of Parliament of Lower Saxony.

She graduated in 1982 with a high school at Oak School Scheessel and trained then as a foreign language secretary. Part-time she studied for the diploma Finanzwirtin ( FH) and has since been working at the regional finance office Hamburg.

It is councilor in Scheessel and since 2006 in the council of the district Rotenburg. In January 2007 she was elected deputy national chairman of the Greens in Lower Saxony.

She stepped to the state elections in Lower Saxony in 2008 as a direct candidate in the constituency 53 Rotenburg ( Lower Saxony), reaching 8.2% of the primary vote, took a over the national list. The direct mandate went to Mechthild Ross- Luttmann ( CDU).

Elke Twesten lives in Scheessel, is married and has three daughters.
