Ellen Johnson

Ellen Johnson is an American civil rights activist and former president of American Atheists. They lobby for the interests of atheists and for the separation of church and state.

Johnson was already growing on in an atheist home and was active since 1978 with American Atheists. She studied environmental and political science. After the disappearance of the founder of Madalyn Murray O'Hair American Atheists ( it was later found murdered ) was Johnson in 1995 her successor. In November 2002, Johnson announced the formation of the Godless Americans Political Action Committee ( GAMPAC ) to support political candidates who stand up for the separation of church and state, is known. In May 2008, Johnson's presidency ended after she was voted out against their will by the Office. Reasons for this are not known.
