Ellesmere Port and Neston

Ellesmere Port and Neston was a District with the status of a borough in the county of Cheshire in England. He covered the southern part of the Wirral peninsula between the rivers Mersey and Dee. Administrative headquarters was the town of Ellesmere Port, lived about three-quarters of the population in the. The rest of the district was rural in character, significant sights were Parkgate and Neston. There was twinned with Reutlingen.

The District was formed on 1 April 1974 and evolved from the merger of the Borough of Ellesmere Port and Neston Urban District of. On 1 April 2009 it was disbanded due to a territorial and administrative reform, and went on in the new unitary authority of Cheshire West and Chester.
