Elliott Highway

The Elliott Highway is a major road in the interior of Alaska, which connects to a length of 245 km, the 17 km north of Fairbanks Located Fox with Manley Hot Springs on the Tanana River. The highway was completed in 1959 and is part of Alaska Route 2

The road is paved between the branch from the Steese Highway near Fox and the junction with the Dalton Highway and accessible all year round, the last 130 km to Manley Hot Springs are gravel. Along the highways there are no gas stations and no mobile network. Travelers are encouraged to interrogate the road condition with a government hotline.

Towns on Highway are Livengood, an old mining town with a population of 29, after 114 miles and Minto After 177 km. It was named after Malcolm Elliot Highway, chairman of the Alaska Road Commission made from 1927 until 1932.
