Elmenhorst is a municipality in the district of Stormarn in Schleswig-Holstein. The municipality consists of the villages Elmenhorst and Fischbek.

History

Elmenhorst

1346 Elmenhorst is mentioned for the first time unequivocally documented. ( In a 1230 nomination is unclear whether the Lauenburgische Elmenhorst is meant ). Up to its allocation in 1588 the place was among the possessions of the nobles Good Borstel, then the nobles Good Jersbek. 1873 Elmenhorst rural community in the parish Bailiwick District Bargteheide in Stormarn. With the final launch of the Prussian municipal constitution in 1889 Elmenhorst came to the District Jersbek. Since 1948 it belongs to the Official Bargteheide country.

Fischbek

1321 Fischbek is first mentioned as the Knights of Hammoor sold it. Later Fischbek belonged to the old sovereign Official Tremsbuttel. In the 16th century the village was temporarily pledged to the nobles Good Höltenklinken. 1867 came Fischbek as rural community to a parish Bailiwick Bargteheide, with the introduction of the Prussian municipal constitution 1889 District Bargteheide. 1924/25, the Tremsbütteler enclaves Cathedral Kuhlen and Eckhorst were incorporated. From 1948 Fischbek belonged to the Official Bargteheide country. On 1 January 1978 Fischbek was incorporated into Elmenhorst.
