Elmira Jackals

The Elmira Jackals are an American ice hockey team from Elmira, New York. The team was founded in 2000 plays since 2007 in the ECHL. In the 2013/14 season they are the farm team of the Ottawa Senator As well as the New Jersey Devils of the National Hockey League.

History

The Elmira Jackels was formed in 2000 as a franchise of the United Hockey League. In this their greatest success was reaching the play-off final at the Colonial Cup in 2002 and 2004. Both finals but they were subject to the Muskegon Fury. After they had then missed the playoffs three times in a row in the UHL, changed the Jackals in the ECHL in 2007, in which they compete since then. In the ECHL, the team from the U.S. state of New York New York reached in their first two seasons, respectively the second round in the playoffs for the Kelly Cup. In this they first came up in the 2007/ 08 season after a bye to the Reading Royals, and 2008/ 09 for a Erstrundenerfolg over the Trenton Devils at the Cincinnati Cyclones.
