Elmo Williams

James Elmo Williams ( born April 30, 1913 in Lone Wolf, Oklahoma, United States) is an American editor, film producer and film director.

Life

Elmo Williams grew up in a 500 inhabitants town in Kiowa County at, and was already at the age of 16 years an orphan. He attended schools in Oklahoma and New Mexico, before he moved to Los Angeles.

In 1933 he learned the cutter Merrill G. White know who made ​​him his personal assistant, and took him to England. With the support of Whites Williams quickly became a recognized Cutter, who completed many of his works at RKO Pictures. After six years, in 1939, Williams returned to the USA, was retired, and therefore did not have as many other U.S. citizens in World War II battle.
