Elmsford is a village in Westchester County in the U.S. state of New York. It lies entirely within the municipal area of Greenburgh, is 1.1 square miles (2.8 km ²) in size and had in 2000 a population of 4676, of which 75.1 % White.
The town is surrounded on three sides by expressways. In the west, Interstate 87 is located (New York State Thruway ), in the north Interstate 287 (Cross Westchester Expressway) and Sprain Brook Parkway in the east of. Elmsford has no rail connection, but was intended as its northern edge, at least in the original planning of the New York, Westchester and Boston Railway; However, the track was built at that time only to White Plains.
