Elnhausen is a district of Marburg an der Lahn in Hesse, Germany. The village, which is home to around 1,200 inhabitants today is, in the Elnhausen -Michel Bacher valley approximately 3 km (air line ) west of the central city of Marburg.
Although only first mentioned in 1234, but the village is already older than 1000 years. The place is divided into an old village with its castle, church and farms and several new housing estates from the 20th century. There is a primary school, a kindergarten, a number of clubs, a sports hall.
On 1 July 1974, until then independent municipality Elnhausen was incorporated in the course of municipal reform in the city of Marburg.
Through the woods around Elnhausen which consist predominantly of beech, are numerous footpaths. West of the Elnhausen is used since the Stone Age people Stöckelsberg (or Stackelberg ), which is bounded on its southern and western slopes of the old and new quarry. In the north, it forms a ridge that forms the Kalderischen reason. On the crest is still an old quarry. On the Stöckelsberg back to at least 1911, the clubhouse of TSV Elnhausen. The path to the hill has been designated a hiking trail.
