Els Poblets

Dénia is a Spanish municipality in the Valencian Community with 3402 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 of which 800 German ), which is located in the north of the province of Alicante in the region of Marina Alta. The picturesque small town (old part of Dénia ) is situated close to the mountains as well as on the Mediterranean. Through the town flows the small river Girona. History

The story of Dénia ( German: The villages ) goes back to Roman times. Today, an old watch tower and the remains of a Roman villa are the witnesses of past times.

Dénia is formed from the merger of three villages: Setla, Mira- pink and Miraflor. In the 17th century they joined first under the name Els Llocs ( German: The places ) together, but parted again. On May 6, 1971, she united for the second time and gave the name " Dénia ".

Current situation

Today, the site of the traditional trade and handicrafts, but also increasingly from tourism is alive. The new part of Dénia, which is located in Setla, applies together with Las Rotas as the most expensive residential area in the region around the town of Dénia.
