Elshod Rasulov

Rasulov Elshod ( born March 7, 1986 in Kokand, Fergana Oblast, Uzbek SSR, USSR ) is an Uzbek amateur boxer. Rasulov won the silver medal at the 2009 World Championships and the bronze medal at the 2011 World Championships and was a participant in the 2012 Olympic Games.

Career

Elshod Rasulov began as a teenager with the boxes. At 18, he joined the Uzbek armed forces, and has lived and trained since in Tashkent. The 1.80 meter tall athlete is southpaw boxer and counter.

At age 17, he won the largest Russian youth tournament with the martial name Battle of Stalingrad in the tournament Welterweight before David Arustamjan from Russia and David Tabatadse from Ukraine. This was his first international success. A year later, in 2004, he was junior welterweight champion in South Korea Jeju. He needed to four wins and defeated in the final Emilio Correa Bayeux from Cuba by termination in the 2nd round. In the same year he started then for the first time at a major international championship of seniors. He finished it in the CISM World Military Championship in Fort Huachuca welterweight 2nd place. In the final he defeated while the Americans Boyd Melson by points ( 14:20 ).

He was first in 2005 Uzbek champion in the seniors at middleweight. More results from Uzbek championships are not known.

In 2006, he started twice in major tournaments or championships in Germany. First, he was the chemistry Cup in Halle ( Saale) in the middleweight division at the start. He won it on the strong Ukrainian Sergei Derewjantschenko by termination in the 2nd round, but lost the final against the World Champion from 2005 Matvey Korobov from Russia by points ( 16:30). In the autumn of 2006 he again participated in the CISM World Military Championship in Warendorf. In the final he was officially introduced to the German Konstantin Buga, whom he defeated on points and for Military World Champion. Towards the end of 2006, he was then at the Asian Games in Doha also winner at middleweight, where he defeated in the final battle Baqtijar Artajew from Kazakhstan on points ( 32:22 ).

2007 won Elshod Rasulov in Ulan Bator again an international title, the Asian champions at middleweight. Towards this title, he defeated Dauren Jelensonow from Kazakhstan ( 29:13 ), Cho Deok -jin from South Korea ( 21:7 ), Mohammad Satlarpouri from Iran ( 14:3 ) and Vijender Kumar ( Mahimal Vijender Singh ) of India each clearly on points. Also at the World Championships this year in Chicago, he won his first two fights about Jan Sojka from the Czech Republic ( 22:3 ) and Istvan Szili from Hungary ( 29:7 ) clearly on points. In the second round but he had a nasty surprise when he was defeated by the not belonging to the first set of middleweight boxer in the world Argenis Nunez of the Dominican Republic by KO in the 4th round. He thus remained only the 9th Place.

In the Olympic year 2008 Elshod Rasulov succeeded in the tournament in Bangkok in the middleweight division with a 2nd place qualification for the Olympic Games in Beijing. In the final, he lost it but against Angkhan Chomphuphuang from Thailand by demolition in the 1st round. When Ahmet Comert tournament in Istanbul, a building tournament for the Olympic Games, he was already in great shape and won there in the middleweight division. Inter alia he suggested doing the Chinese Hanati Silamu and Baqtijar Artajew from Kazakhstan. The year 2008 Elshod Rasulov decided with the participation at the World Cup in Moscow. He graduated from his last start in the middleweight division, because he boxes from 2009 in the light heavyweight division. In Moscow he won over the Chinese Wang Jianzheng on points ( 5-2 ), but lost in the semifinals against Andranik Hakobyan ( 2:12 ).

2009 won Elshod Rasulov the Chemistry Cup in Halle ( Saale) in the light heavyweight division. He won it on Fanlong Meng from China ( 11:1 ), Rene Krause from Germany ( 4-1) and Alexander Moskoakiy, Russia, in each case on points. He was then in Zhuhei / China for the third time Asian champions, while for the first time in the light heavyweight division. In the final he defeated while the Chinese Meng Fanhua by points ( 12:6 ). In Milan in 2009, he succeeded then, to conquer a medal also in the World Cup. He needed to five victories. The opponents he defeated were Einar Karlsson from Estonia, Joshua Ndere from Kenya, Gilbert Castillo from the Dominican Republic, Rene Krause from Germany and Abdelkader Bouhenia from France. The final battle he lost in a dogged out fight in which he was up to the 4th round in the lead, against Artur Beterbijew from Russia just by points ( 10:13 ).

In the Asian Games 2010 Rasulov won the gold medal and beat the course of the tournament Ehsan Rouzbahani, Iran ( 3-1 ) in the semifinals Meng Fanlong, China ( 12:1 ), and in the final Dinesh Kumar, India ( 10:4 ). The following year, Rasulov started again at the World Championships, in which he claimed victories over Daniel Ebanks, Cayman Islands ( 22:5 ), Yamaguchi Falcao, Brazil (17:12 ), and Ehsan Rouzbahani, Iran ( 15:7 ), and a semi-final defeat against Ädilbek Nijasymbetow, Kazakhstan ( 11:9 ), won the bronze medal.

With this placement, Rasulov also qualified for the 2012 Olympics, in which he, however, after a victory over Yahia El- Mekachari, Tunisia ( 13:6 ), already in the quarterfinals to eventual Olympic champion Yegor Mechonzew, Russia ( 19:15) eliminated.
