Elvin Nimrod

Elvin G. Nimrod ( born August 27, 1943 in Carriacou ) is a Grenadian politician.

The Hon Elvin Nimrod G. is currently Secretary of State responsible for Foreign Affairs, International Trade, Carriacou and Petit Martinique Affairs and Justice. He is also the Attorney General of Grenada.

Biography

Nimrod visited the state Hillsbourough Primary School and following the " Grenada Boys' Secondary School ".

He taught for three years at the " Mount Pleasant Government School " in Carriacou. End of the 60 years he emigrated to the United States, where he continued his academic education at Brooklyn College and graduated as a Bachelor of Science in Political Science. He then studied criminology at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, where he graduated with a Master of Arts and following a legal graduate studies at New York Law School for obtaining the doctorate.

He then practiced at first privately and then for several years in the Brooklyn law firm " Nimrod and Tucker ." He was appointed to the Supreme Court of Grenada in 1993.

Political offices and functions

His active political involvement began in 1995 and in January 1999 he was parliamentary deputy of the New National Party ( NNP) for the constituency of Carriacou and Petit Martinique. In February, he was Minister with the responsibilities of legal affairs, labor, local authorities and administrative matters Carriacou and Petit Martinique Affairs.

In August 2000, Elvin G. Nimrod foreign minister. Later, the area International trade, since March 2003, and the function of the Attorney General of Grenada was added.
