Ely do Amparo

Ely do Amparo - even Ely or Eli - ( born May 14, 1921 in Paracambi; † March 9, 1991 ) was a Brazilian footballer, who participated during his career with the Brazilian national team at the World tournament in 1950 and 1954.

Club career

Ely began his football career in 1939 at the America FC in the north of the city of Rio de Janeiro, but the unterklassigen Canto do Rio FC joined in 1940 on the other side of Guanabara bay in Niteroi to where he established himself as captain.

National team career

Ely do Amparo announced on April 3, 1949 at the opening game of the Copa América 1949, a 9:1 victory against Ecuador, his international debut in the Brazilian national team.
