Emajögi and Võrtsjärv

Emajögi (translated: " Mother River ", German name: Embach ) is the longest river in Estonia.

He starts out as Väike Emajögi ( Small Embach ) on Pühajärv near the ski resort Otepaeae and is from various streams in Tartu county and county Võru fed. He joins, among others, by the river Pedeli (paddle, the largest inflow ) and ends after the last of the Purtsi added yogi in the Võrtsjärv ( Wirzsee ) from which he as ( Suur ) Emajögi ( engl.: Big Embach ) emerges again.

It flows through the city of Tartu is navigable from here on even larger ships and discharges into Lake Peipsi emerges from the north as in the border between Estonia and Russia, Narva and flows about 60 km in the Baltic Sea.
