Emanuel Raasch

Emanuel "Emu " Raasch ( born November 16, 1955 in Castle ) is a retired German racing cyclist and current cycling coach.

Emanuel Raasch began his cycling career at SC Dynamo Magdeburg, later moving to the SC Dynamo Berlin. Throughout his career, he was three times GDR champion, twice in the time trial over 1000 meters (1975, 1976 ) and once in the sprint (1977). Several times he took second and third places at UCI Track World Championships. His biggest success was the World Cup victory in tandem together with Eyk Pokorny in Stuttgart in 1991.

Raasch now serves as coach the sprint team of the Berlin club " RSV Werner Otto" and advises customers on the world champion Robert Förstemann.

In the German film Run Lola Run of 1998 Raasch played a minor role. In the German Bodybuilding Championship of the National Athletic Committee ( NAC ) 2011 in Cuxhaven, he won the title in the "Body over 50 ".
