Embassy Hill

Hill respectively Embassy Hill was a British Formula 1 team, founded by the two -time Formula 1 drivers world champion Graham Hill and by the British tobacco company WD & H.O. Wills was sponsored for the cigarette brand Embassy.

The team was reported for eleven races in the 1975 season and was able to qualify in ten races with a total of 19 race car starts. Driver in the team of Graham Hill were Rolf Stommelen, François Migault, Tony Brise, Vern Schuppan and Alan Jones.

Previously, the team was entered in the years 1973 and 1974 as a shadow or Lola customer team in appearance.

End of November 1975 overthrew the Piper Aztec, the team boss Hill had bought from his win bonus for the Indy 500 in 1966, while approaching the airport from Elstree in dense fog over the village of Arkley in Hertfordshire. In addition to Hill, five other members of the Embassy -Hill team were killed, among them Tony Brise, at that time a great British Formula 1 hope. The accident also meant the end for the team.
