Emblem of the Moldavian Soviet Socialist Republic

The coat of arms of the Moldavian SSR existed between 10 February 1941 and November 1990, during the period of existence of the Moldavian SSR as a constituent republic of the Soviet Union.

Blazon

In the blazon the coat of arms is described as a shield loose round shape. About a rising shining golden rising sun hovers crossed right and left hammer a sickle. To the sides of the symbol of vines and other fruits coming forth crossed golden wheat ears and one earth-colored corn cobs draped with a red bow. Centered on the loop in white Cyrillic capital letters " PCCM " and on the sides and in the way the motto. About the coat floats a five-pointed red star gilt-framed.

Symbolism: The red star indicates the affiliation to communism. At the bottom of vines, apples and pears are shown. Left and right ears of wheat and corn on the cob surrounded the coat of arms. Hammer and sickle as a symbol for the communist state policy.

In the middle of the band is in Russian Cyrillic letters РССМ Република Советикэ Сочиалистэ Молдовеняскэ, Republica SOVIETICA Socialistă Moldovenească; German: Moldavian Soviet Socialist Republic.

Currently, the coat of arms is again used in a slightly modified form of the international law unrecognized Transnistria.
