Embraer Legacy 500

The Legacy 500 is a business jet the Brazilian manufacturer Embraer.

History

The program for this type of aircraft was presented as MSJ ( Mid-Size Jet) together with the smaller Embraer Legacy 450 at NBAA 2007, the public, the program launch was announced at EBACE 2008. The rollout was held in Sao Paulo on December 23, 2011. The 1:45 hour long flight of the prototype ( aviation Features: PT- ZEX ) took place on 27 November 2012 from the airport in São José dos Campos. The approval by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration and the Brazilian aviation authority ANAC is expected in 2013, the first deliveries in 2014.

Construction

The flight control is provided completely fly- by-wire, the avionics is equipped of Rockwell Collins. The interior is provided by the Austrian aircraft components manufacturer FACC. The production of the wings takes place in the Portuguese Évora in cooperation with the OGMA - Indústria Aeronáutica de Portugal SA, a supplier company owned by EADS and Embraer.
